Laboratories

The Electronics and Communication Engineering Department have well equipped laboratories as per NBA and AICTE norms with all the facilities needed for cutting edge technology. The laboratories are continuously improved and updated to achieve excellent students’ satisfaction in providing high end skilled training and development on emerging technologies. Individual systems and personalized attention ensure hands on training to our students in their respective subjects.

The major laboratories of the departments are as follows:

 

1. Basic Electronics Laboratory

 
The Basic Electronics Engineering laboratory is one of the first electronics engineering laboratory courses the students will take. In this lab, students become familiar with making basic electronic circuits and develop knowledge in relevant field using various laboratory instruments like CRO, Function Generator, Multimeter, and Trainer Kits.

2. Analog Electronic Circuits Laboratory

 

Analog Electronic Circuits Laboratory includes multiple digital and analog electronic components and equipments like CRO, Function Generator etc aimed to train the students to design and construct various analog electronic circuits and to explore their practical applications.

3. Solid State Device Laboratory

 

Solid State Device Laboratory encompasses the study and design of the physical systems that allow advancements in the field of electronic devices. It deals with all aspects of solid state devices, circuits and technologies.

4. Signals & Systems Laboratory  

Signals & Systems Laboratory introduces the concept of continuous as well as discrete time signals, their analysis and synthesis through various transforms like Laplace, Fourier and Z-transforms on MATLAB platform.

5. Digital Electronics & Integrated Circuits  

Digital Electronics and Integrated Circuit Laboratory encompasses the design of various combinational and sequential circuits using discrete components targeted to facilitate the students to explore the application of Digital Electronic Circuits.

6. EM Theory & Transmission Lines Laboratory

 
The main thrust in this area is the application of electromagnetic to a wide range of engineering system and devices including antenna, circuits and systems over the RF/microwave band.
7. Analog & Digital Communication Laboratory  
The Analog and Digital Communication Laboratory is equipped with comprehensive set of electronic instruments, trainer kits and discrete components targeted to facilitate the students to explore the application of   analog & digital communication.

8. Microprocessors & Microcontrollers Laboratory

 
The Microprocessors & Microcontrollers laboratory provides facilities for the use of 8 bit microprocessors/microcontrollers and their interfacing for different applications, using hardware and software concepts to meet industry standards.
9. Digital Signal Processing Laboratory  
Digital Signal Processing Laboratory offers a comprehensive understanding about the discrete signals and various mathematical operations on them, study of different types discrete time systems and design of various discrete type filters on MATLAB as well as TMS320C6713 DSK platform.

10. VLSI Design Laboratory

 
VLSI Laboratory is one of the sophisticated laboratories in the department which is associated with the design and simulation of semiconductor device, circuits & system. Tanner SPICE and MODELSIM are the key software work tools, installed in 30 computer systems and FPGA trainer kits are main hardware set ups.
11. RF & Microwave Engineering Laboratory  
RF and Microwave Laboratory is a specialized laboratory which deals with the devices that are designed to operate in the radio frequency spectrum. Moreover wave propagation, transmission and reception of microwave signals, waveguides etc are major fields of learning in this laboratory.
12. Project Laboratory  
The projects are carried out by final year students in this laboratory by applying the knowledge of all related courses in providing hardware/software solutions and present demonstrable product. The project laboratory is equipped with testing and measuring instruments like CRO, Power supply, multimeter, ICs, sensors, and discrete components. The project work inculcates creative and innovative thinking of the students.

Laboratory beyond Curriculum

Advance Communication Laboratory  

Advance Communication Laboratory is a beyond curriculum laboratory which has been set to bridge the gap between the syllabus and recent trends in modern communication engineering.  This laboratory consists of sophisticated instruments like GPS, Satellite Communication trainer kit, GPRS, WLAN, Bluetooth, and Optical Fiber and LASER trainer kit

 

Departmental Library

 

Apart from the central library the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department has a departmental library which supports the teaching learning program with a good collection of text books, reference books, journals, and training and project reports. The library also subscribes ‘Electronics for You’ magazine.
